When it comes to Southern California and BMX a few things are synonymous and most people will mention sun, sand and hopefully the home of Supercross BMX! With the return to national racing occurring this year in the epicenter of BMX riders far and wide ventured out to show support and check out a great new venue.
This national you could tell from the build up was going to be a great event and the marketing was well executed by the different collaborations available. When is the last time that digital billboards and event programs were part of a package deal? Great idea and even better execution! We got to see our Team Supercross riders larger than life just across from the venue at the local Land Rover dealership on their megatron screens through the weekend. Very cool!
While not gracing billboards the team was in the pits which were jam packed as just about our entire roster was on hand from Spencer Cole and KJ Romero in the pro classes all the way down to Ryder Merki another So Cal resident. Smilin' Bill Ryan made it a point to not miss out and he was talking shop all weekend with the news that the coveted potential bike of the year the new RSX was starting to ship to customers. Order one quickly as these will absolutely sell out. We are thrilled to see a hometown national so close to the Supercross HQ and we look forward to seeing next years version and hope to see some of these marketing opportunities in the future. Check below to see some of the factory riders who scored podiums over the weekend!
George Goodall goes 2nd, 1st and 1st in cruiser.
Kaiden Ireland picks up a 3rd In 13 expert.
Justin Perkins the Dr. nabbed a 1st and a 2nd in 14 expert.
Rage By Gaige also picked up a 1 and 2 in 15 expert as well.
Deegan Brown debuted in 17-20 expert and grabbed a 3rd along with sweeping cruiser all weekend.
Swifty and Turnell combined for 5 podiums and were running up front all weekend.
Scoops was on it all weekend with a slew of 2nd and 3rd place finishes in expert girls.
Next stop for the crew as we head toward the grands is likely Desoto Texas as riders look for last chance scores, make sure to vote #supercross for golden crank voting which is open now and we will see ya trackside!
When we think of Florida and the kickoff to a new season of racing naturally we think sunny weather and fast paced race action right? Well mother nature had a different idea and the sun was elusive and nowhere near as bright as the debuts for a few new faces and some familiar faces in new classes.
Well now that we have had a week to get back home and relax and recharge the batteries we now can finally look back at an amazing Tulsa 2023 USABMX Grand Nationals. It is always a great time at the grands because more often than not you will see a who is who of BMX royalty and a few new faces usually can leave long lasting impressions. With this being the end all season culmination race it was destined to be a statement event for some and a coming out party for others.
