2021 Race Report: Lone Star Nationals

3 min read

And just like that the 2021 USA BMX Regular National Season comes to a close. Feels like just yesterday we we’re recapping the season opener in AZ. I guess time flies when you’re having fun!

We had a small group of SX riders make the trip to Rockstar Energy Park for a packed weekend of racing! Let’s wrap up the action and talk about how the squad performed.

Justin Perkins On Fire Again

This kid is on a roll! Dr. Perkins checked in to Houston and left with Double aces! Our man took hold of the 12x class leading the boys wire-to-wire during both main events. He managed to grab the holeshot early and keep it clean all the way to the finish.

This will definitely serve as a nice confidence boost of as he continues to prep for The Greatest Race on Earth later this month. We can’t wait to see the Dr. show his stuff under the big roof and hopefully leave with another pair of aces come Sunday evening. Only time will tell, but boy are we excited for Justin has in store!

‘Big B’ Snatches Another Podium

Upon her golden VISION F1, Annabella Hammonds made her way to Rockstar Park to show her stuff. She was in the fight all weekend and battled her way through each qualifying round to secure a spot in the mains both days.

Day 1, she managed to take home an impressive 3rd place! it’s never a bad day whenever you secure a podium spot in one of the most staked female classes of the weekend!

On Day 2, Bella came out with the lead riders down the first straight. As everyone scrambled into their positions entering and exiting the first turn, Bella took the outside line to set up for turn two. Now sitting towards the front of the mid pack with a shot at another podium, Bella rode it super close to the inside line. Unfortunately she ran a little too close to the pro side and was shot right into the inside of the turn. From here, Bella would lose a few spots. But she kept fighting down the third straight to take a P4 on day two!

Strong riding from Bella to get into both mains and put up a serious fight. Bella is clearly establishing herself as a consistent contender for podium spots and even wins. Time to get back to work and prep for the big show as we inch closer to Thanksgiving weekend.

Moore Scores Up a ‘B’ Main Podium

Elite Men and Factory Pro Rider, Cam Moore also joined the Supercross squad out in Houston, Texas. It was a big weekend as the Houston marked the last stop of the USA BMX Pro Series Tour before we set our sights on the Grand Nationals.

Cam rode strong in the opening rounds edging out some of the best in the class for low points after 3 motos. Cam would go on to find himself in the ‘B’ mains both days with a shot at some extra cash. Day 2, Cam made the most of it and took home a podium finish within the ‘B’ main!

Things are looking up as Cam continues to progress through the Elite ranks. Hard work and consistency pay off in the end as the Elite field is staked across the board. Can will take this momentum from Houston and use it as fuel as we go full blast into Grands Prep!
