Supercross BMX Heritage Collection · The Cro-Mo Years
The first Supercross signature frame — Tange Prestige Ultra Strong with a fluted downtube. Only 2 ever made.
The Supergas was the first time Supercross tried to build a signature frame: an SX250 in Tange Prestige tubing with a ribbed, fluted downtube, built for Ronnie Gaska. Only 2 were ever made.
Ronnie Gaska was an up-and-coming A Pro and Superclass racer from Long Island, and Bill Ryan wanted to help him out. The frame was an SX250 built entirely in Tange Prestige tubing with double-thick dropouts — and Tange had a tubeset almost nobody was running: Prestige Ultra Strong, with a ribbed, fluted downtube. Very rare, very strong, and super cool to look at.
Like most Supercross frames, the name came from cars and car racing — Supergas reads like an old dragster name. Only two Supergas frames were ever built, which puts it among the rarest Supercross frames in existence.
