The first modern 26-inch BMX race frame — 25 built, plus 5 Quad Looptail pit bikes, with Scot Breithaupt's blessing.
After the first 24/26 Quad hit BMX Museum and people went nuts, Scot Breithaupt said it was OK to build more. In 2002 Supercross built the traditional 26-inch front-and-rear Quads — only 25 of them, plus 5 Quad Looptail pit bikes.
Big bike racing didn't exist yet as a category. With Scot's blessing, Supercross made it real: 25 hand-built quad-stay frames in 26-inch front and rear, honoring the SE lineage — a full-circle moment, since Scot had given Bill Ryan his first industry job at SE in 1981. Five Quad Looptail pit bikes were built alongside the race frames.
Not long after, SE Racing was bought, and out of respect for the brand's new life, no more were ever made. Twenty-five race frames and five pit bikes — that's the whole run.
“We brought it back in 2002 with frames people could actually race. We were there.”Bill Ryan, founder
