Houston Pro Opener

2 min read

USABMX rolled into town this past weekend and with pro riders frequenting the amazing facility at Rockstar Energy Bike Park it was evident that the pro show would be on full display for the first pro race of the season. A contingent of professionals would look to start the season out strong from #1 ranked riders to local professionals making debuts alongside our own in house stars this race was a peek at what the season will hold.

Spencer Cole and Vineta Petersone SupercrossBMX

Vineta Peterson and Spencer Cole would go from social media introductions to the factory Supercross team and then transform into the 8m warriors on the SX tracks. You might have noted the new FLY Racing gear that will be standard as the team debuts a new white version of the typical blue that we normally run. Paired with Fly Radium pants and Fly Formula Carbon lids the team looked absolutely sharp out there! The pro and am riders are eager to get the season started and the new kit screams stylish!

Cam Bramer was in good form chomping at the bit with a B main appearance as well as Spencer. Cam also bagged a U23 main starting the year off picking up points which have been revamped for 2023.

Deegan Brown Supercross BMX Racing

Gaige Gomolicke Supercross BMX

Our amateur crew was small but mighty with Gaige and Sequoia Gomolicke combining for a slew of wins and Deegan Brown has really found his stride working himself into a main event appearance off the 8m hill in superx open as well as a few class main showings and we are excited to see him develop and push the envelope aboard his Vision F1.

Nick Valencia Supercross BMX

To round out the Am efforts resident TM Nick Valencia would take a nasty fall early Friday but would rally to find the podium Sunday and continue an impressive start to the season.

With Houston running just above 200 motos it was really a showcase of the pro riders and the next stop for them will be Oldsmar in 2 weeks. The Am riders however will be out in full force and the entire team will be on home turf of sorts as the series moves to the legendary landscape of Black Mountain just outside of Phoenix Az for the inaugural Winter National event.
