Q&A WITH Kylie

Tell me about yourself. Who are you? How old are you? What class do you currently race? When did you start racing? How did you start racing? Etc.

I am Kylie Martin, currently 18 years old racinf in the 17-20 Womens Expert Class. I started racing when I was about 11 after finishing up the road biking and barrel racing seasons. Before I knew it I fell in love with the sport and the rest was history.

What year did you get picked up on Supercross? What did that conversation and process look like?

I joined Factory Supercross at the end of 2023. They had began following me and the Grands, which I thought was a spam page at first, and then shortly after getting home they sent a DM wanting to meet. About a week later I was signing my contract and gearing up for 2024.

What are some of your biggest achievements within the sport?

Some of my biggest achievements would include multiple podiums at national events, becoming a role model for the next generation of riders, and of course being picked up by Supercross BMX.

What is your favorite thing about being on Supercross?

My favorite part about being on Factory Supercross would definetly be all of the different doors that this sponsorship has opened up for me. Not only have I met so many amazing people who I get to call my teammates, but I also get to expand my knowledge on social media along with gaining the opportunity to work with some of my favorite brands.

What’s your current local track?

My current local track is Bellflower BMX.

What is your favorite thing about BMX Racing and why?

My favorite thing about BMX would be getting to hop on my bike and have all of the noise go quiet. For the two hours at practice it's just me, my bike, and maybe a few photos here and there haha

What are your hobbies outside of racing?

Taking my AMX250 all over California to lead rideouts, thanks to First Saturdays LA, is by far my favorite thing to do, however, i'm not opposed to a good gym sesh either.

What are some of your goals for your racing career?

My short-term goals are to remind everyone that this sport is for fun, and long-term would be to podium a series of nationals on my Yoshimura flats, something I haven't seen a 17-20 womens expert do yet.

What are some of your goals outside of BMX racing?

Some of my goals outside of racing would be to host my own rideout, continue to grow my social media, and continue to be a role model for the younger kiddos

What is your favorite memory that you've had while racing BMX?

So far this year my favorite memory would be seeing everyones reaction to me making the main event at the City of Industry National even though I was on flats.
