April 9, 2011 - Supercross Thumpers Coming Together
Well the builds begin, we got the frames back from Anodize and Powdercoat, Marzocchi got us a few of the brand new 2011 888 Forks and some ROCO WC rear Shocks, Still waiting for UPS to drop off the Cane Creek Anglesets, but the builds have started. The first one we started to build was Courtney's custom anodized beast. She wanted to do somethng true to the Supercross Team colors on her build, the Supercross Team Colors have been Black, Blue, Gold and Red for the last 20 years, so she opted for a Blue Anodized Frame with Gold Squiggles topped off with the Red Marzocchi Roco shock. It looks so siick.
And we have been having some people ask for closeups of the shock mounted in with the linkage, so here are a couple of shots from different angles of the Shock Box Area.
And while we are building the bikes down here, Jerry Vaderpool of Hippie Tech Suspension is busy building up his Thumper to get ready for the Sea Otter next weekend, where Jerry will have all 3 of his Supercross Rigs on Display in the Marrow Booth. He has his Shine Hardtail 4x, his Propel Full Suspension 4x and now his new Thumper. And Jerry went with a RAW finish as he said RAW spelt backwards is WAR and that is what he is going to do next weekend, is wage war on the competition.You can see Jerry's son shares Jerry's sense of humor.
