2012 Supercross Propel's are Shipping!!
What a better way to start this post than with a photo. Here she is the new 2012 Supercross Propel 4x/Dual Slalom Full Suspension Frame.
We have been working on this design for over 2 years, prototypes were made, changes made, new prototypes, more changes, and here we go. Full Production, Custom Easton Tubeset, 3.75" of travel using a 6.5" Eye to Eye Shock with 1.5" of stroke, so the progression is spot on.
It uses a Campy style Integrated Headest with a 1 1/8" fork, so there are plenty of good choices for front suspension. We personally like the Marzocchi 4X and the X-fusion Velvet as that is what we have done a lot of our testing with. But any 80-100mm travel fork will work.
The Linkage design is a simple 4 bar linkage, that is simple and works. The Pivots use oversize sealed bearings to keep it nice and smooth and the Linkage has been CNC'd to the point of perfection where it is nice and light but stiff to ensure that it is tracking straight and holds strong while powering out of the berms and off the line.
The Frame uses the new ISCG 05 Tabs and a 73mm BB shell with a 45mm chainline to make it easy to set up and get that perfect chainline so your pedaling is ultra smooth.
And at the back end of the Boxed in Swingarm, we have Adjustable dropouts with a built in tensioner and the Disc and Derailure tabs. Being BMXers at heart we can see one of you ( or one of us ) setting this up as a single speed and needing that feature, or if you are as obsessive as some of our riders, you may want to stretch out the back end jsut a hair bit for one course or bring it in a bit for another. With the Propel you have options.
