2011 UCI Supercross Finals and ABA US Open
The Fall Season always has great races, used to be the Fall Nationals at Coal Canyon or Del Mar were the "Must Be At " Race of the year, now it has become the Chula Vista event at the Olympic Training Center. And this year it was no different, The UCI Supercross Finals, the ABA U.S. Open Nationals, The ABA Hall Of Fame awards, talk about a weekend packed with fun.
It all started off on Friday with the Time Trails, in the Womens Category, Dani was flat out flying and took 7th in Time Trials, and qualified for the Super Finals, and Amanda Carr took her new ENVY to a 4th in Time Trials also securing her spot in the Super Finals and Lil' Kim took the #16 spot which meant she should of made Superfinals, but she had tied with a girl from the Netherlands and they took the time out to the 4th decimal point and Kim just missed the Superfinals by .0002 of a second.
Next up was the Men's Time Trials, Nate had a hot lap and dropped in to the 20th slot, but unfortunately he kept dropping as other riders ran and finished with a 93rd in the Time Trials. Alex Anthony took a 25th in Time Trials and secured his spot in the Big Show.

In the Womens Superfinals, Dani took a 10th, and Amanda took an 8th, both looking impressive in thier laps. It is so strange watching the Superfinals as it is a solo lap around the track again, wish they would at least do it in a moto style so they are actually racing. Would make it more exciting for the fans, and from what the riders are saying they would prefer it that way as well.
Saturday morning the ABA U.S. open National started out early as they were trying to get the race finished before the UCI Supercross Finals started. On the Future BMX track, the day started off great. The Pits were full,

the Danimal fan Club was in full effect,

everyone was in a great mood, having fun and getting ready for a great day.

Being the youngest, Little Ash had to start the day off and start it off she did with a win in her class round, and Zach, Nate and Jeremy followed suit, by putting in hot laps.

While the Quarters and Semi's were running on the Future BMX track, the First Motos started up on the Big Hill.
The First moto of Elite Women had Lil' Lim and Amanda Carr in the gate, and Amanda shot out like a gun shot, with Lil' Kim in tow.

Amanda ended up finishing second in the first round, with Lil' kim in 5th.
In the Third Rack of Elite Women, Dani followed suit and was rocket powered, hitting the first turn with a good lead on the pack. Dani ended up going 2,2,1 in the motos.
In Elite Men, Alex Anthony had a killer rack and came away with a 6, 7, 6 finishes. Not quite what he was looking for, but he was looking good on the track.

And while all of this was going on over on the big hill, on the Future BMX track, Little Ash won 11g, and took a 3rd in Open, Zach Tossett took a 3rd in 14x, Nate made it to Semi's in 17/18x and Jeremy, holeshotted the main and tangled with Wassenar in the turn and went down. Not the best results overall for the weekend, but a ton of fun.
Nate and Jeremy even gave KJ some custom hand drawn sharpie Tattoo's

On Sunday, it was a little more relaxed to not have to run back and forth between the 2 tracks, well everyone was more relaxed, except for Jeremy. Jeremy had a flat on his car on the way to the track, almost missed first moto and was still sore from the crash the night before.
Kenth actually got to hang out in the pits for a while on Sunday as he was done with his coaching requirements for the big hill, so it was nice to have him back in the pits.

Soemthing else that was keeping everyone amussed in the pits aside from Dani's custom Autographed Catalogs and Posters ( if you got one of the special ones you will instantly see what we mean ) is that Doug Hiatt left his custom chopper bike in the pits, and in keeping with the spirit of Doug and Austin being in the pits, Nate and Lil Kim did thier best biker impressions on it. Nate was learning how to do Powerslides on it and Kim, well...... she was having a little trouble with the height of the bars.

After her leasurely Sunday ride on the chopper, Kim went back to the pits and sat with Dani for a bit, while she was doing her usual pre-mains prep. You know, everyone has a system of things they do before thier main, Dani's is pretty easy, devour a cookie or two and she is ready to go.

And it seems to work for her, as when she eats her cookies, she goes out and wins. And Sunday was no exception. She had her new Oreo Cookies, drank her water, and headed to staging and brought back a win.

Ash also picked up another win for the day, doubling in 11g for the weekend, Zach took a 5th for the day in 14x, Nate made semi's again, Dani picked up her win and Jeremy, well you know how we said he was having a bad day in the morning, well it continued on to the afternoon with him on the gate for his 17/18x main, the cadence starts, he rolls his cranks back to set his pedals and "PSSSST" yep the dreaded sound of your tire going flat on the gate. So what do you do at that point, quickly grab KJ's bike from behind you in staging and go. Well Jeremy got tangled up with Bryce and Jordan, and ended up crashing on the first straight. Luckily the crash was not as bad for Jeremy as it was for Jordan, but it was not the end to the weekend Jeremy was looking for.
Next stop on the schedule is the ABA Redline Cup West Finals in Boulder, it is a UCI Pro Race as well and we will be rolling out the trailer and the pits and be looking to have another great weekend! Be sure if you are there to stop on by, grab a catalog get a signed poster or just say hi.
